Is Pineapple safe in pregnancy?
Generally safe
Yes — pineapple is safe in normal amounts.
What the evidence says
Pineapple is safe to eat throughout pregnancy in normal portions. The common myth that pineapple causes miscarriage is not supported by evidence — you would need to eat impossible quantities to get meaningful amounts of bromelain from fresh fruit.
Why this matters
Pineapple contains bromelain, but the amount in fresh fruit is far too low to affect the uterus. Concentrated bromelain supplements are a separate matter and should be avoided.
