Is Chocolate mousse safe in pregnancy?
Safe with limits
Shop-bought is safe; restaurant/homemade depends on eggs.
What the evidence says
Shop-bought chocolate mousse from major supermarkets uses pasteurised ingredients and is safe. Homemade or restaurant chocolate mousse typically contains raw egg — safe only with British Lion eggs. Ask before ordering if unsure.
Why this matters
Commercial mousse is pasteurised. Homemade versions contain raw egg with Salmonella risk unless Lion-marked.
