Is Runny or raw eggs (British Lion) safe in pregnancy?

Generally safe

Yes — UK British Lion eggs are safe, even raw or runny.

What the evidence says

Eggs stamped with the British Lion mark are safe to eat raw or runny in pregnancy — including soft-boiled, poached, mousse, mayonnaise, and fresh cake batter. Non-Lion eggs, eggs from small producers, or eggs from abroad should be cooked until yolk and white are solid.

Why this matters

British Lion eggs come from hens vaccinated against Salmonella and have stringent on-farm safety controls, bringing the risk of Salmonella to a very low level.
